Rio
Studio – Twentieth Century Fox Animation (Previous Film: Horton Hears A Who!)Director - Carlos Saldanha (Previous Film: Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs)
In a nutshell....
Blu is one of the rare species of a spix Macaw, who resides at a bookstore in Minnesota. He is the last male of his kind, and when scientists find out that another Macaw, Jewel, was spotted in South America and is a female, they send Blu to Rio De Janeiro to meet her. As he learns to confront his fear of flying in order to win her heart, they get kidnapped by poachers to sell them for a fortune. After they escape, they try to avoid the thieves with the help of others.
Two names, Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Carlos Saldanha, mean this film will be nothing less than very good. With such a strong track record of successes by both, the makers and the director, Rio certainly promises to be a fun ride. The story is unique, and the cast behind the microphones is awesome. Besides, watching it in 3D will add great value to the entire experience. Rio released in many nations last week and was loved by each and everyone.

Scream 4
Studio – Dimension Films (Previous Film: Piranha)Director - Wes Craven (Previous Film: My Soul To Take)
In a nutshell....
Sidney Prescott returns to her hometown of Woodsboro on the 15th anniversary of the first Woodsboro murders, for a tour of her new self-help book. She encounters her former allies Sheriff Dewey Riley and entertainment journalist Gale Weathers, as well as her younger cousin Jill Roberts, her best friend Kirby Reed, and several of Jill's high school friends. The slasher killer Ghostface returns, and is stalking and killing Jill's friends and several other people in the area. This time the killer is taking references from horror movie remakes. In order to survive, Sidney, Dewey, Gale and Jill will have to anticipate and follow the conventions of the 21st century horror films to determine who the killer is.
Wes Craven returns to direct another Scream film full of murders and blondes. I couldn't help but sympathise with the kind of trailer they've made for this one. It lacks the thrills and chills, and by no means feels like an interesting horror. The quality of the films have drastically reduced ever since the first Scream film released, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this one being the worst amongst all. However, the story is quite interesting this time but whether it's executed well remains to be seen. On the box office, Scream 4 will do well because of the large fan base it has but I hope the fans get something better than the last two films.

The Conspirator
Studio – Lionsgate (Previous Film: The Lincoln Lawyer)Director - Robert Redford (Previous Film: Lions For Lambs)
In a nutshell....
7 men and a woman are arrested and charged for conspiring to kill the President, Vice-President and the Secretary of State. Mary Surratt, the lone woman charged, own a boarding house where John Wikes Booth and others met and planned the simultaneous attacks. Fredrick Aiken, a 28 year old Union War hero, is a newly minted lawyer who reluctantly agrees to defend Mary Surratt before a military tribunal. Aiken realises in time that his client is innocent and that she is being used as a bait and hostage to capture the only conspirator to have escaped a massive manhunt, her own son, John Surratt. As the nation turns against her it is upto Aiken to save his client.
Robert Redford's previous venture was also based on politics, and did well but not as great as something one would expect from an Oscar winning director. The Conspirator seems to be the one that might remind people Redford's worth. People in America still love Abraham Lincoln as much as they used to when he lived, and this emotional bond will draw them to the theatres. Besides, McAvoy and Wright seem to have given great performances and I wouldn't be surprised if the latter wins a nomination. The story's very interesting and the trailer is engaging. But with a limited release I'm not sure how well will this film do on the box office.

Studio – Moving Pictures Film and Television (Previous Work: Swinging With The Finkles)
Director – Malcom Venville (Previous Work: 44 Inch Chest)
In a nutshell....
Henry's Crime is about a frustrated man who is used as a pawn in a bank heist and is mistakenly imprisoned. He figures since he spent the time in jail, he might as well do the crime. Things become complicated when he is hit by a car by a local play actress and falls in love with her.
This film seems to be a nice little entertainer with some fun, little humour and romance. The plot is appealing and the trailer suggests it can be given a try. However, such films have fallen flat on their faces in the past, but I hope Keanu Reeves pulls it off.
