Thank You

Studio
– UTV Motion Pictures
(Previous Film: Saat Khoon Maaf)
Director - Anees Bazmee (Previous Film: No Problem)

In a nutshell....

Raj, Yogi and Vikram are best friends, business partners, serial womanisers and happily married. They're happily married because their wives are clueless about their husbands cheating on them. This picture perfect world is rocked when Raj's wife, Sanjana, begins to suspect her husband and hires a suave private detective, Kishan, who specialises in saving marriages by catching the husbands pants down. The whole film is a cat and mice game between the three friends and Kishan.

Anees Bazmee has a reputation of giving super hit comedy films with a huge star cast. Although, No Problem was an exception, his recent films have grossed a lot of money irrespective of them being good, average or bad, in terms of quality. On the other hand Akshay Kumar has given a long list of flops in the past two years. But Thank You seems to be a good opportunity for him to give a hit, finally. He suits perfectly well in such roles, and the other three guys are also charming actors and make this film look very interesting and funny. With no strong competition for Thank You this weekend, I'm sure it's going to do an awesome job on the box office. I think this one is a well made mad-cap entertainer, and the Akshay-Suniel, and Akshay-Anees jodis will maintain their successful run.

Rio

Studio – Twentieth Century Fox Animation (Previous Film: Horton Hears A Who!)
Director - Carlos Saldanha (Previous Film: Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs)

In a nutshell....

Blu is one of the rare species of a spix Macaw, who resides at a bookstore in Minnesota. He is the last male of his kind, and when scientists find out that another Macaw, Jewel, was spotted in South America and is a female, they send Blu to Rio De Janeiro to meet her. As he learns to confront his fear of flying in order to win her heart, they get kidnapped by poachers to sell them for a fortune. After they escape, they try to avoid the thieves with the help of others.

Two names, Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Carlos Saldanha, mean this film will be nothing less than very good. With such a strong track record of successes by both, the makers and the director, Rio certainly promises to be a fun ride. The story is unique, and the cast behind the microphones is awesome. Besides, watching it in 3D will add great value to the entire experience. I can't wait for it to tickle my funny bone, and bank this film to do wonders at the box office.

Just Go With It

Studio – Columbia Pictures (Previous Film: Battle: Los Angeles)
Director - Dennis Dugan (Previous Film: Grown Ups)

In a nutshell....

Danny is a dentist who flirts around with women lying about his marriage woes. He really starts liking Palmer, to whom he has lied about his bad marriage life just like others. Palmer takes a real pity on him and their romance starts to grow. But, to take things forward, Palmer wants to meet Danny's wife to know exactly why they had a troubled marriage. Danny's in a fix now, as he is not married. So, he approaches his long time assistant cum friend Katherine, who is an ordinary looking woman. Things go out of control when Palmer misunderstands that Danny, and the now sexy looking Katherine, have children too, and she insists to meet them too.

Just Go With It is a remake of the 1969 hit Cactus Flower, which was also remade here as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya in 2005. The storyline and situations are funny and both the earlier films have done well in a way, even at the box office. With Sandler and Aniston in the lead, one can expect fireworks from this film. It got mixed reviews from the viewers and critics in the US but they loved the lead pair and that's most likely why people should go and watch this film.
