Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 2

Studio – Warner Bros. Pictures (Previous Film: Horrible Bosses)
Director - David Yates (Previous Film: Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 1)

In a nutshell....

Harry, Ron and Hermione continue their pursuit of hunting down all the Horcruxes in order to make Lord Voldemort vulnerable to death. As they do so, they also need to keep a track on the Deathly Hallows as having them would perhaps make the possessor the conqueror of death. Now it is upto Harry and the Order Of The Phoenix to battle for the good against the Dark Lord and his gang of Death Eaters.

I'd been waiting for this day, to preview the most important movie event in the history of cinema. The boy wizard is back, and once he goes this time, he will never return. The last in the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part II is the film readers and fans of the series have waited for ever since 2001, to witness the final confrontation between the Dark Lord and the Boy Who Lived. Such is the aura surrounding this film that it's the most anticipated one in the history of cinema, anywhere and everywhere in the world. People have literally grown with the characters of this film and I'm sure this one will leave behind emptiness in such lives, including my own. The young actors have gotten better with age, and now since the stakes are higher than ever, the entire unit behind the film has put its best foot forward. The reviews that have come in so far have gone gaga over the magnitude and brilliance of the film. Both, the critics and the lucky one who got the chance to watch this one have praised this one to the highest level. Some have also gone on to suggest that it can also get an Oscar nomination. No other film will stand a chance to even get an inch closer to the success this film will enjoy at the box office. It wouldn't be a surprise to see HP7 - Part 2 to shatter all records. The only thing I'm doubtful about is the 3D. But that's too little a thing to worry about. Personally, I wish to catch this one a minimum of 4 times.

Salvation Boulevard

Studio – IFC Films (Previous Film: The Trip)
Director - George Ratliff (Previous Film: Joshua)

In a nutshell....

Using exaggerated spiritualism, Pastor Dan Day makes his church a business empire by taking undue advantage of people who believe in him and his theories. Day's days of fun face a threat as church-goer, Karl, wises up. Day has now got to tackle him to avoid being exposed.

Unique stories, different plots, new vision, that's what we all crave for. During a time when at one hand the audience wishes to see something it has never seen before, and on the other it also wants to be entertained throughout, it is a great challenge for any filmmaker to make such a film. But I believe George Ratcliff has overcome such challenge and made a nice, entertaining film. Salvation Boulevard has an almost untapped story and a great cast. It promises to be a thrillingly hilarious film with the kind of situations shown in the trailer. The director's previous film, Joshua, had got a good response, and he showed a lot of promise that he can deliver. I guess this one will make for a brilliant viewing but will face a massive competition from the final Harry Potter flick.

Winnie The Pooh

Studio – Twentieth Century Fox Animation (Previous Film: TRON: Legacy)
Directors - Stephen Anderson (Previous Film: Meet The Robinsons), Jon Hall (Previous Film: Princess And The Frog)

In a nutshell....

Winnie reunites with his friends Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga and Roo as the gang sets out to save Christopher Robin. Considering Pooh had gone out to get some honey, his day starts to get rather busy as he now also needs to find a solution to fix Eeyore's tail.

I'm so glad Disney brought Pooh back to the big screen. The animal gang is loved by people across the world, kids and adults alike. Also, both the directors know the tricks of the trade when it comes to animation, and have had great success with their previous ventures. With a good voiceover cast, and the traditional animation coming back in these times of live animation and 3D, I'm sure families would flock to the theatres and have a great weekend time. The film did a great job during its UK release and will make for an awesome treat. The only thing that will go against it is its release alongside Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
