Double Dhamaal
Studio – Reliance Entertainment (Previous Film: Shagird)
Director - Indra Kumar (Previous Film: Dhamaal)
In a nutshell....
The once corrupt police officer, Kabir is now a businessman who enjoys super luxury with lots of money at his disposal. The four good for nothing jokers Roy, Boman, Adi and Manav, envy Kabir's position and want to get a share of his riches. They fool him, his wife, Kamini, and sister, Kiya, to get into a business deal with them. Things get miserable for the jokers as the business venture turns out to be a nightmare for them. It is a cats and mice game between team Kabir, and the four jokers.
I must admit that Dhamaal was a real shocker. I'd not gone expecting it to be as entertainingly funny as it turned out to be. Naturally, the makers wished to cash in on the success of the film and the result, a sequel. Double Dhamaal is being promoted as a film that would entertain the audiences twice as as much as Dhamaal did. Well, I'd again be really shocked with surprise if it actually turns out to be true. With the addition of two actresses, or should I say items as eye candy, the sequel aims to add the Oomph factor as well. The makers claim that audiences complained of there being no prominent female character in the first film. I believe that was the real beauty of it, having an all male cast is no crime. With the inclusion of Mallika Sherawat and Kangana Ranaut, I think this film may falter in the hopes of winning the hearts of those who wanted women characters. No doubt Jalebi Bai is already very famous thanks to those movie goers. Yet, I believe in the characters and the actors who played those characters to give another stunner. The film will, without a shred of doubt, see a good opening. But whether it manages to rise above the standards it set with Dhamaal, remains to be seen. Personally, I'd be glad even if it matches those standards.

Studio – Walt Disney Pictures (Previous Film: Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides)
Director - John Lasseter (Previous Film: Cars), Brad Lewis (Previous Film: Tracy)
In a nutshell....
Five years after the talking cars entertained us and made us laugh out loud, the master of animated storytelling, John Lasseter, is back with a sequel of Cars. The Oscar winning director has a lot in store for us this time around, as the cars go international with the World Grand Prix championship. With the addition of the likes of Michael Caine and Emily Mortimer, the cast has gone bigger and stronger. The trailers promise this one to be a great summer entertainer, as the plot gets dynamic and interesting. The studio name, the credibility of the writer-director, the popularity of the cast, and most importantly, the success of its predecessor, will give Cars 2 a huge opening at the box office. High expectations from this one. I give it a Second Choice for the Indian audiences.
