In a nutshell....
14 year old Mattie Ross is a farm girl who seeks revenge from Tom Chaney, a henchman, who killed Mattie's father. To chase him down, the girl hires the toughest U.S. marshal, Rooster Cogburn, whose drinking, laziness and reprobation puts Mattie in doubts about his grit. Thus she wishes to join him in the pursuit of the killer. They are joined by a Texas ranger, LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for his own purposes. The unlikely trio face dangers and surprises on their journey, as each person's grit is tested.
10 Oscar nominations are more than enough to make this a must watch. Besides, this is a remake that seems to be much better than the original. Joel and Ethan Coen are gifted and talented writers and directors who have already won 4 Oscars each. And, with Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges involved, this film promises to give even more than it can deliver. True Grit will without a doubt do well on the box office despite the western setting, and should certainly be the pick of the week.

In a nutshell....
Hailsham is a different boarding school than most others that teaches the students to always take care of themselves and stay healthy for they are merely clones supposed to donate organs to the originals. Kathy, Tommy and Ruth are three such students who develop a strong bond amongst themselves and remain friends. But despite a special friendship between Kathy and Tommy, Ruth and Tommy have an affair which continues till they come out of school. Once out, they have problems in understanding the outside world but they also learn that if a donor proves to be in true love, he/she can defer donation for three years. Ten years later Kathy visits the hospital where Ruth is living and is on a second donation. Ruth, knowing she would die after the third donation, suggests Kathy and Tommy to rekindle their love to avoid donations.
Based on Kazuo Ishiguro's novel of the same name, Never Let Me Go is a superb tale about friendship and love told differently. The story is unique, beautiful and full of rich emotions which is why I think this film is bound to move people. Three young and proven actors form the heart of this film and thus I think one can bank on the performances as well. This film is another must watch for the week, and I suggest to also read the novel.

Just Go With It

(Previous Film: How Do You Know, Grown Ups)
Director - Dennis Dugan (Previous Film: Grown Ups)
In a nutshell....
Danny is a dentist who flirts around with women lying about his marriage woes. He really starts liking Palmer, to whom he has lied about his bad marriage life just like others. Palmer takes a real pity on him and their romance starts to grow. But, to take things forward, Palmer wants to meet Danny's wife to know exactly why they had a troubled marriage. Danny's in a fix now, as he is not married. So, he approaches his long time assistant cum friend Katherine, who is an ordinary looking woman. Things go out of control when Palmer misunderstands that Danny, and the now sexy looking Katherine, have children too, and she insists to meet them too.
Just Go With It is a remake of the 1969 hit Cactus Flower, which was also remade in Indian cinema as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya in 2005. The storyline and situations are funny and both the earlier films have done well in a way, even at the box office. With Sandler and Aniston in the lead, one can expect fireworks from this film. But it faces a lot of competition this week, so whether it does well or not remains to be seen.

In a nutshell....
Gnomeo and and Juliet are two garden gnomes who fall in love but have to face many obstacles as they are caught up in a feud between beighbours. The question is, will they find happiness among such madness?
Gnomeo & Juliet sounds exciting as nothing has really be done on gnomes before. The cast is spectacular and so is the director whose both the previous animated films have done really well. The grown ups might not enjoy but it sure seems like a treat for the little ones.

In a nutshell....
Everybody's in a mood for celebration as Jellystone park is completing its 100th year. However, Mayor Brown wants to close the park and sell the land as there is low public attendance. Yogi Bear now needs to do something that will bring Jellystone park back to its glory days, becuase if he fails, Boo Boo and Yogi Bear shall lose their home.
Yogi Bear's back with the cute Boo Boo. Reminds me of the old days when I used to come back home from school and watch this funny bear do things beyond imagination. When I first read about this film being made I was really glad. Later when I heard about Timberlake doing Boo Boo, I was elated. But all this anticipation went to the dumps when I read the US reviews. Forget adults, kids also hated this film. It's got pathetic ratings and has been disliked by most of all. I just hope it doesn't kill the memories of the childhood days of all those who go for it.

In a nutshell....
In 1965, 3 young Israeli Mossad agents went on a secret mission to capture and kill the 'Surgeon of Birkenau', who performed notorious experiments on prisoners. 30 years later the man who was supposed to be dead, resurfaces in Ukraine. The now old, ex-agents have to find out the truth by going undercover again.
A remake of the German-Israeli film of 2007 by the same name, The Debt is a powerful thriller that has an interesting storyline. John Madden's been better at thrillers than making romantic films, in my opinion; and therefore I've high hopes from this one especially after watching the trailer. Besides, I think this film's cast has a strong appeal and only a fool would question the abilities of Tom Wilkinson and Helen Mirren. A must watch I'd say.
